TNPSC's own instructions to candidates: the photo is 3.5 × 4.5 cm (130 × 170px) at 200 DPI, and of that height, 115px is your face and the remaining 55px is a printed strip carrying your name and the date the photo was taken. The signature should be 6 × 2 cm (230 × 75px) cropped at the same 200 DPI, and the file should be between 10-20KB.

TNPSC's instructions ask for a color photo taken in a photo studio, against a plain white background(which is prefered), in frontal view with both ears and part of the neck visible. A Mobile selfie against a wall usually fails on background and framing before it ever fails on file size. So try to take it in a photo studio or mobile's frontal camera.

Why does my name and date need to be on the photo, not just the form?
TNPSC's specification builds the name/date strip into the photo's own 170px height - it's part of the image file itself, not a separate field elsewhere in the application.

What if my compressed file lands outside 20-50KB (or 10-20KB for the signature)?
It won't - this tool searches for a quality level inside that exact range before handing you the file. If your original photo is extremely small or simple, it may upscale slightly to stay above the 20KB (or 10KB) floor, same as TNPSC's own instructions allow.

Is this tool free, and does it store my photo?
