Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 2025
Compressly is a privacy-first, browser-based image compression tool. This page explains what data we collect (if any), how it is used, and what choices you have.
Key points (short summary)
- All image compression happens locally in your browser.
- Your images are not uploaded, stored, or shared.
- No account or personal information is required to use the tool.
- Only minimal, anonymous analytics are used to improve the site.
How Compressly works
When you select an image, the file remains on your device and compression happens entirely within your browser. We never receive or store your images. Files only leave your device if you choose to download or share them yourself.
Information we collect
- No image data: Images you compress are never uploaded to our servers.
- Anonymous analytics: We may use tools such as Vercel Analytics, Speed Insights, and Google Search Console to understand site usage and performance. These tools collect aggregated, non-personal information like page views, device type, and general region.
- Error logs: Anonymous technical errors may be recorded to maintain site stability. These logs do not include image content.
Cookies
Compressly does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Any cookies used are minimal and related to site performance or platform operation. You can disable cookies in your browser if you prefer.
Third-party services
Compressly relies on third-party services for hosting and analytics. These services operate under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
- You may block analytics or cookies using browser settings or extensions.
- For highly sensitive images, consider offline professional software.
