Compress signature PNG for PSC and government forms

Reduce the file size of signature PNGs while keeping transparency when required. Designed for Kerala PSC and other government portals.

Many recruitment and government portals request a separate signature image. Signatures are often PNG with transparency — which can be large if scanned at high resolution. Compressly helps you reduce KB without losing the important details.

How to compress a signature PNG

  1. Open Compressly (Home) and choose your signature PNG file.
  2. If the portal accepts JPG, consider converting to JPG for much smaller size (note: transparency will be lost).
  3. Use Target (KB) to set the required size (for example 50 KB or 30 KB for strict portals).
  4. Use the Download button and upload the compressed file to the portal.
Important: If the portal requires transparent background, keep PNG and try small targets like 30–60 KB. If transparency is not required, convert to JPG for much smaller files.

FAQ

Q: My portal requires PNG and < 50 KB, what should I do?
A: Crop tightly, reduce resolution slightly, and use a target of 45 KB. If still large, try converting to JPG if the portal allows.

Q: Will compressing change the look of my signature?
A: Minor quality loss may happen at very low KB. For most forms, legibility is preserved.
